How do I star and highlight events?
Star your most meaningful events to mark them as highlights and filter the timeline to show only what matters most.
Starring an event
Open any event and tap the star icon in the detail view. Starred events are marked as highlights — they stand out visually on the timeline with a distinct indicator.
Filtering to highlights only
Use the Highlights filter in the timeline toolbar to collapse the view to only your starred events. This is useful for quickly reviewing the peaks of your life story, or for seeing what would appear in a curated share.
What highlights are for
Not every event carries the same weight. Highlights let you mark the moments that defined a chapter — a move that changed everything, the job that shaped your career, a relationship that mattered most.
Highlights also inform AI features: they signal which events carry the most personal significance, which can influence story and insight generation.
Rules of Thumb
- Star events sparingly — a handful of true highlights is more useful than starring everything.
- Use the highlights filter when you want a quick review of your most important life chapters.
Common Mistakes
- Starring too many events — the filter becomes less useful when most events are highlighted.
- Confusing highlights with privacy — starring an event does not change who can see it.
