How do On This Day and Weekly Reflect work?
Automated notifications that surface past events and prompt weekly reflection.
On This Day
When you have events from the same calendar month in previous years, LifeCharted sends you a notification surfacing them — for example, "You started your job at IBM 12 years ago this month" or "You moved to Nashville 5 years ago."
The more events you have logged with specific month and year dates, the more On This Day has to surface. If no matching events exist for the current month, you will not receive a notification that month.
Weekly Reflect
Each week, a prompt invites you to reflect on the week gone by. It is a lightweight nudge to capture anything worth logging before memory fades.
How notifications are delivered
Notifications arrive via push (if you have enabled browser notifications) or email, depending on your preferences.
Manage your notification settings from Profile → Notifications. You can enable or disable each notification type independently.
Rules of Thumb
- Add month-level dates to past events — On This Day only fires when it finds a matching month.
- Enable push notifications in your browser for the most timely delivery.
Common Mistakes
- Expecting On This Day notifications when most events only have a year and no month.
- Missing notifications because browser push permissions were denied during setup.
