How does sharing work?

Create share links that bundle multiple documents, control who sees what, and track who has viewed them.

Sharing requires Premium

Creating share links requires an active Premium subscription. If you are on the Free plan, the Sharing Center shows any existing shares you have but the Create link button is disabled.

You can upgrade to Premium from your profile at any time.

Creating a share link

Open the Sharing Center from your profile and click "Create share link." A three-step wizard guides you through document selection, recipients, and confirmation.

Step 1 — Documents: Choose which items to include — Life Resume, My Story, Life Stats, Timeline, and/or Photo Book. Selecting two or more creates a bundle share: recipients see a single link with tab navigation between documents. You can set a custom title (e.g., "My Professional Profile") and reorder the tabs.

Step 2 — Recipients: Add email addresses or phone numbers, or skip this step for a link-only share. Checking "Send invite email" automatically emails each address with your link. You can add more recipients to an active share at any time.

Step 3 — Confirmation: Review your settings and copy the generated link.

Pinning a document version

For Resume, Story, and Stats, you can pin a specific saved version to a share so recipients always see that exact draft. Leave it set to "Always current" to automatically show your latest saved version whenever someone visits the link.

Public vs Trusted audience

"Public" means anyone with the link sees only events you have marked Public. "Trusted" means the link shows Public events plus any events marked "Trusted only" — a richer view for closer contacts.

This means you can share a polished professional profile publicly and a more personal view with family or close friends, using separate share links with different audience settings.

Who sees what

Private events are never visible to anyone but you, regardless of the share type.

"Trusted only" events appear on Trusted-audience links but not on Public-audience links.

Public events appear on both link types.

View tracking

The Sharing Center shows a view count for every active share. Expand a share to see per-recipient detail: first viewed date, last viewed date, and total view count. Recipients who have not opened the link yet show a gray indicator; those who have show green.

Revoking access

You can revoke any share link at any time from the Sharing Center. Once revoked, the link shows no content to anyone who visits it. Revoked shares move to a separate tab so you have a record.

Rules of Thumb

  • Use Public audience links for professional or wide-audience sharing (resume, achievements, career history).
  • Use Trusted audience links for closer contacts where you want to include more personal context.
  • Pin a specific version when you want the share to stay fixed — useful for job applications or family gifts.
  • Regenerate your story with the correct audience setting before sharing — the AI filters events by visibility.

Common Mistakes

  • Sharing a story generated while logged in as yourself — it may include Private events not intended for the recipient.
  • Adding sensitive events and not checking whether they are set to Private before creating a share link.
  • Expecting a Public link to show Trusted-only events — they only appear on Trusted audience links.
  • Forgetting that creating shares requires Premium — the Sharing Center is visible but creation is gated.
