When should I add photos, people, or places?
These details make events easier to revisit and often improve story quality.
Use context where it adds meaning
Adding a place helps anchor an event in the world. Adding people clarifies who mattered. Adding photos can make the memory easier to revisit later.
These details are most useful on meaningful chapters rather than every small event.
Managing people across your timeline
The People tab in the main navigation gives you a dedicated view for adding and managing the people in your life. From there you can create people, set relationship types, and see everyone connected to your story in one place.
Exploring your places with Life Journey
The Places tab has two modes. Overview plots all your pinned locations on a world map. Life Journey animates an ordered path through your residences and trips — showing how you moved through the world over time. Switch between them using the mode toggle at the top of the Places tab.
Rules of Thumb
- Add places to moves, travel, and homes.
- Add people to relationship, family, and major life chapters.
- Use photos when they make the memory richer, not just because they exist.
Common Mistakes
- Treating every event like it needs the same amount of enrichment.
- Adding photos without a clear title or description first.
