Adding Events

What goes in the description?

Use it to explain why the event mattered or what changed.

Add meaning, not repetition

The description is the right place for context, emotion, consequences, and the people or places involved.

It does more work than a long title because it improves both memory and story generation.

Ask what changed

A useful description usually answers one of these: why did this matter, what changed because of it, or who was involved?

Rules of Thumb

  • Explain why the event mattered.
  • Mention who was involved when relevant.
  • Capture what changed rather than repeating the title.

Common Mistakes

  • Leaving the description blank for major chapters.
  • Repeating the title instead of adding context.
  • Using the description only for logistics and not meaning.
