It's less like a diary and more like a living résumé of your entire life, with AI to surface patterns you'd never notice on your own.

Ancestry is built around genealogy and deceased ancestors. LifeCharted is designed for living people documenting their own story in real time — structured data, AI insights, shareable documents, and a privacy-first approach. Your history belongs to you, not a public genealogy database.

Yes. Nothing in your LifeCharted account is shared with anyone unless you explicitly choose to share it. Individual events can be marked Private, Shared, or Public. Your timeline as a whole is private unless you generate a specific share link.

When you request an AI insight or narrative, the relevant data from your account is sent to our AI provider (Claude, by Anthropic) to generate the response. We do not use your data to train AI models, and your data is never shared with third parties for advertising or analytics purposes. AI features are entirely optional.

No. LifeCharted has no advertising business model. We charge a subscription for Premium features. Your data is never sold to third parties, never used for ad targeting, and never shared without your consent. This is a core part of how we built the product.

Yes. You can export your full life history at any time in open formats. Your data belongs to you — not to LifeCharted. We believe strongly in data portability and will never hold your history hostage.

The free tier lets you log up to 25 life events across all 7 domains and use the timeline, map, and relationship views. Premium removes the event limit, expands photo storage to 10 GB and 10 photos per event, unlocks sharing, increases AI usage to 25 insights and 40 narratives per month, and gives you your Life Resume & Story PDF.

LifeCharted is a web app optimized for desktop and tablet. A native mobile app is on the roadmap for after launch. The web app works on mobile browsers, and we've installed it as a PWA (Progressive Web App) so you can add it to your home screen.

Yes, on Premium. You can generate shareable links for your Life Timeline, Life Resume, Life Story narrative, Stats view, and AI Insights. Each link can be shared with specific people or made more broadly accessible, and you can revoke any share at any time.

LifeCharted is currently in private beta. You can join the waitlist on our homepage and we'll invite you when a spot opens, or use an invite code if someone has shared one with you. Beta users get a direct line to the founding team to shape what we build next.
