Six categories of insight
Career Pattern — how your professional arc bends over time. Life Scope — the breadth of your life across domains. Decision Point — what tends to trigger your biggest changes. Travel Pattern, Health Insight, and Relationship Insight round out the six. Each category is generated separately so insights stay focused and actionable.
Grounded in events, not generated from thin air
Every insight is traceable to specific events in your timeline. When AI says "you tend to change jobs 6–18 months after moving cities," you can tap through to see the exact four events that support that pattern. No horoscopes. No generalizations. Every claim has a source.
Save, dismiss, and refresh
Star insights to save them permanently. Dismiss ones that don't resonate — they won't be regenerated. Refresh to get a fresh batch. Over time, the system learns what's useful and what isn't, and surfaces progressively more relevant patterns.
Sensitivity layer built in
AI Insights includes a sensitivity classification pass before anything is shown. Health events are handled gently by default. Events related to loss, grief, or trauma can be excluded entirely. You can configure exactly which domains and events the AI is allowed to reason about.
Private by design — audit logs included
Before your events reach Claude, they pass through an anonymization layer: names are redacted, specific locations are generalized. Every generation is logged with a timestamp, the event IDs used, and the model version. You can see exactly what the AI saw — and when.

Common questions
How does AI Insights find patterns in my life?
AI Insights sends a structured summary of your events — anonymized, categorized, and timestamped — to Claude. The model identifies co-occurrences, temporal patterns, and recurring conditions across your timeline. Each insight is then traced back to the specific events that support it, so you can verify the pattern yourself.
Is this accurate, or will the AI just make things up?
Every insight must be grounded in events you've actually logged. The AI cannot invent a pattern from thin air — if it says something happened repeatedly, you can tap through to the events it's referencing. If the pattern isn't there in the data, the insight won't be generated. That said, pattern recognition is interpretive — you're the final judge of whether an insight is meaningful.
What's the difference between an AI Insight and a horoscope?
A horoscope is written to apply to anyone. An AI Insight is generated specifically from your event history and must be defensible by pointing to real events in your timeline. If an insight doesn't hold up when you look at the source events, that's worth noting — but it also won't be regenerated if you dismiss it.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Your events are sent to the Claude API only to generate insights in your session. They are not stored or used for training by Anthropic under our API agreement. LifeCharted never uses personal life data to train any model — ours or anyone else's.
Can I opt out specific events from the AI analysis?
Yes. You can mark any event as excluded from AI analysis — it will never be sent to the model. You can also configure sensitivity settings by domain: health events can be handled with extra care, relationship events can be excluded entirely, and so on. The AI sees only what you've permitted it to see.
Will insights change as I add more events?
Yes. Each generation pull is based on your current timeline. As you add events over time, the patterns the AI can detect become richer and more nuanced. A timeline with 10 events will produce general observations; one with 100 events will surface specific, defensible patterns you couldn't see yourself.
How does the sensitivity layer work for trauma and loss?
AI Insights includes a classification pass that identifies events tagged as health-related, or that include keywords associated with loss and grief. Before generating an insight in that category, the AI applies configured tone guardrails — softer language, no prescriptive framing, no minimizing. You can also exclude these events entirely from the analysis.
Can I share an AI Insight with someone?
Free users can copy the text of any saved insight. With Premium, insights can be included in your shareable My Story narrative or as an appendix in your Life Resume. There's no public insight feed — everything shared is explicit and controlled by you.
